Job Summary:
The warehouse associate will work as part of the warehouse team. In this position, the warehouse associate will receive, store, and retrieve materials, tools, equipment and products within the warehouse ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all orders to support business operations. This position requires computer knowledge and manual dexterity. This position requires the ability to read instructions represented in manuals and follow these instructions. This position may require the operation of a forklift, man-lift, or pallet jack. This position exists in a temperature controlled environment.
Essential/Key Functions:
- Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
- Correspond with internal customers as needed
- Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color or product code.
- File work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated storage area.
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for employee or customer traffic.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Open skids, crates and other containers.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
- Assist in counting of physical inventory.
- Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Prepare parcels for mailing as needed
- Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Wear the proper safety equipment.
- Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
- Prepares reports as needed
- Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
- Provides advisory support and assistance to the department manager as needed.
- Responsible for meeting team targets and key performance indicators
- Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
- Follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner
- Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary including weekends and holidays if deemed
- Other duties as assigned by management
Management Responsibilities: This position oversees the human resource function of the business units and provides direction, support, and advice to senior leadership
Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be well organized
- E1 Experience a plus (JD Edwards program)
- Forklift License required
- Must manage time well
- Must support mission and purpose of the company and be committed to professional and personal growth
- Must take initiative
- Must be results driven
- Ability to work as part of a team and interface with other departments.
- Good analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize in the face of multiple tasks
